Hello friends! The Altenew Educators are having an Instagram hop where we aim to inspire you with cards with a masculine vibe. My card project for today is not only masculine but gender neutral as well – which is so much more versatile!
The main image of my card is a beautiful “floral” arrangement from the Enchanting Beauty stamp set. I purchased this stamp specially for its gender neutral design which when done in muted colors, could easily be a masculine card as well. I heat embossed the design on light gray cardstock using crisp white embossing powder and used the coordinating die to cut it out.
The background of my card is actually clear acetate which I dry embossed using the Angled Mosaic 3d Embossing folder – my all-time favorite embossing folder. Then I took some embossing paste and mixed the paste with a quick spray of jet back ink. I then smeared the colored paste onto to the embossed acetate – scraping off the raised areas very well with a small palette knife to create a unique design.
Then I cut out a rectangle window out of a panel of the same light gray cardstock using two consecutive rectangle nesting dies.
Next, I adhered the embossed acetate on a white 5.5″X4.25″ card base, then I adhered the widow panel on top. The embossed acetate, created a lot of dimension on the window panel because of it’s raised areas. Then I adhered the “floral” cluster on top then added the frame, with some parts of the images tucked in and some on the outside of the frame.
To finish off the card, I added a Happy Birthday sentiment stamped with dark gray ink. Then added satin baubles as embellishment.
