Here is my first design as a new member on the Scrappy Tails design team.

I created a slimline card showcasing the Slimeline Graveyard Borders die. Instead of using it on the long side of a slimline card, I decided to use it on the shorter side of the panel, creating a multi level design on the card.

First, I ink blended the night sky using Distress Oxide inks. I used a big circle to mask the area that would be the full moon in the graveyard scene. Starting from the inner part of the circle, I ink blended using Victorian Velvet, then I followed it with Wilted Violet, then Villainous Potion. Working my way outwards, I used Chpped Sapphire and then Black Soot for the edges. I removed the mask, I brushed the moon lightly with the left over violet ink from the blending brush. To create some shimmer, I sprayed the panel with a shimmer spray and dabbed off the excess spray with a paper towel.

Next, I used the two dies from the Slimline Graveyard Border set, and die cut them out of black glitter cardstock. I also used the same dies and die cut them out of white fun foam. I adhered the white fun foam behind the die-cut graveyard border, offsetting it a little. This creates a white “shadow” which will make the layers stand out and will also look like the reflection of the moonlight on the graveyard.

I then layered the scene and then cut the excess off at the sides. The fun foam gave each layer dimension but you can always skip this and use regular white cardstock if you don’t want too much thickness on the card.

For the sentiment BEWARE and the two little ghosts and bat, I used the dies from the A7 Storefront Halloween Add-on die set. I die-cut them using white glitter cardstock and off set them with the left over glitter cardstock. This was really so much fun to make and I look forward to making more cards with the latest Scrappy Tails Harvest Blessings release!

Next on the hop is the lovely Bethany. Please hop on to her blog for more amazing inspiration!

‘Til next time!
