There is nothing like a bouquet of flowers to bring you joy and contentment! The Craft Your Life Project Kit, an exciting monthly package that will give you endless crafting fun! The kit features a 6×8 stamp set, coordinating die set, as well as a stencil and embossing folder to fit the theme, this project kit has almost everything you need to start crafting. Just add ink and cardstock, and you’ll be good to go! This kit features a gorgeous stamp set with three beautiful floral clusters. The set includes eight messages great for everyday occasions. The kit also features FIVE coloring stencils which will allow you to color the floral clusters in two coloring layers. Furthermore, there is a matching die for each of the floral clusters and an embossing folder featuring an elaborate version of one of the floral clusters from the stamp set.

First I took all the stamps from the stamp set (except for the leaf stamp) and arranged them on my Misti, just so they would fit an A2 size card panel. I stamped it out on a piece of plain printer paper which will serve as my “template”should I want to use the same lay-out over and over.
Metallic Embossing on Colored Cardstock
I am warning you this can get pretty addicting specially if you enjoy heat embossing! I simply stamped all the images with embossing ink on a piece of colored cardstock and used metallic embossing powder – antique gold, antique silver and rose gold! I cut down the panels and matted them with coordinating metallic mattes. Then added die-cut sentiments also with the coordinating metallic shadow layer. Then baubles to finish them off.

Coloring with the Stencil:
I used the same layout and stamped it with Obsidian Ink. I used the coordinating layering stencil to color in the images. I used the Martian Terrain sets of inks for color in each layer of the flowers. The leaves are colored in using Tropical Forest set of crisp dye inks.
I matted the panel with a peachy orange cardbase and I stamped and cut the sentiment “Hello Beautiful” with Obsidian Ink. I added some sequins as a finishing touch.

Die-cut Inlay:
This technique is a little more involved but this results in a two for one. I applied the same technique as the first set of cards. One panel with black outline of pearlized gray cardstock and the other silver embossing on navy blue cardstock. Then using the coordinating die, I die-cut the flower clusters, making sure to keep any small pieces. Then I switched the die cut clusters and inlaid them. I have a more detailed explanation of this technique on another blog post linked here.

An easier technique that would achieve the same look of die-cut inlay, is to heat emboss all the images of the flower clusters and die cut them and adhere them on a cardstock panel.
Which technique inspired you to give it a try? And speaking of inspiration, next stop on the hop is lovely Ishani!
‘Til next time!
