Altenew Mini Delight: Bee Kind Release Instagram Hop + Giveaway

Hi! Welcome back to my blog! If you love bees like I do, then this blog post inspiration will be speaking to you! I have two card inspirations to show!

CARD #1:

These two cards take a little more effort to create but once you get one done and have a sort of template, then it gets a little easier.

First, I die-cut several letters for the word “happy” from the Lowercase Alpha Dies just recently released by Altenew. To save time and effort, I used the “d” die which was actually the same as the “p” die! Each letter is at least 3 layers thick to give it some dimension.

After adhering all the layers of each letter together, I used a thin piece of washi tape and the grid lines on my mat to layout the spacing between the letter. I found this easier than using a T-ruler as the washi also kept my paper from sliding around.

I started with the word “happy” centered on the bottom 1/3rd of the card, then worked my way placing the letters on both sides and working my way up and below.

Before I removed the washi, I took a pencil and traced a line so I would know where to adhere the letters. I started at the second row from bottom of the panel. After tracing with pencil, I removed the washi and began to glue the letters down.

After I finished adhering all the letters, I went to my paper trimmer and cut off all the excess parts of the letters sticking out. I also cut the panel down a little smaller than an A2 size card so I could matte it.

Then I die cut the word “happy” from black and yellow cardstock and adhered it on the centermost “happy”, offsetting it a little. I had earlier stamped the bees with Obsidian Ink and Honey Drizzle from the Pocketful of Sunshine set. I adhered the bee in the middle of the card to read “BEE” Happy!

CARD #2:

Remember that yellow “happy” word I had die cut for my first card? I had die-cut it from yellow cardstock die cut using a circle die. I inlaid it with a black word “happy”. I stamped the word “BEE” from the stamp set on the upper left of the word.

I used the elegant Dotted Swirls Debossing cover die on black cardstock as the background of the card. I thought the swirls of the cover design was perfect for this! I added foam tape behind the yellow circular element and adhered it to the middle. Then I added the bees I had stamped on either side of the circle.
