WILD HIBISCUS by Altenew

I bought this stamp set from a local craft store a few years ago. I was quite attracted to the design, I thought, hey, this should be easy.. Not so.. because.. I didn’t have the right inks, or the correct stamping tool. Heat embossing was a complete mystery to me, then.
I persevered and experimented. I invested in a few tools. Then it became much easier and so much more enjoyable!
I am forever grateful!
THE BACKGROUND
I used the same technique as described in my last post “MY JOURNEY BEGINS WITH A CARD”
THE FLOWER & LEAVES
I heat embossed the outline of the flowers using PURE WHITE CRISP EMBOSSING POWDER by Altenew. Then I watercolored the flowers and leaves using PRANG METALLIC watercolor set – an inexpensive set.
THE SENTIMENT
I die-cut the “thanks” sentiment four times. This sentiment die came from the Altenew SIGNATURE WORDS DIE set. Then mounted them all together to create dimension.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
I mounted the embossed watercolor background on an aqua blue card stock leaving 1/8th of an inch all around then mounted on a white card stock base. I put a vellum band on the bottom half and arranged my flowers and leaves. Once I was happy with it, I mounted them using double sided tape. I adhered the sentiment with matte medium adhesive. I finished off the card with Nuvo pearl drops.
Hope you are inspired by this card and leave a comment below if you wish.
Till the next card!
