MAJESTIC BLOOM by Altenew

I simply love the stamps from Altenew. The majestic bloom stamp is one of my favorites!
How I created this card.
THE BACKGROUND:
I used a Sizzix embossing folder, I smooshed inks onto the raised part of the folder using two colors of distress inks. Then sprayed water on top until the color forms little beads. Then I placed the card stock gently on top and closed the folder, ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot and left it to dry.
THE FLOWER AND LEAVES:
I stamped the outline of the Majestic Bloom image onto watercolor card stock using Tim Holtz distress ink in a light pink color. Then I proceeded to watercolor each petal using the same distress inks taking care of emphasizing the inside petals to appear darker and slowly adding drops of water towards the edges. I did the same with the leaves, but using green distress inks. I fussy cut the flower and leaves close to the edge of the image, leaving no white outline.
THE SENTIMENT:
I die-cut the sentiment four times using black card stock. I stacked them up using matte multi-medium glue. Then used Wink of Stella pen to create some shimmer.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER:
I trimmed the background element to fit a 4.25″ X 5.5″ pink card base, leaving 1/8th inch on all sides. Then I arranged my flowers and leaves on top of the card. When I was happy with the arrangement, I used glue to secure the elements on to the card. Then I added the sentiment and embellished with Nuvo olive green pearl drops in the middle of the flower. Finished off the card with Nuvo Crystal Drops to mimic morning dew.
I hope I’ve inspired you!
