PEONY BOUQUET by Altenew

I received some sad news yesterday. A good friend of mine just told me her mother had passed. I can’t imagine losing a parent.
I created this card for my friend. I already had watercolored the flower and leaves a few days ago using Tim Holtz distress inks by Ranger. It was sitting inside my box of “to do” when I thought that the beautiful blue color of the flower would be appropriate for a sympathy card.
For the background, I used the Altenew’s layered medallion cover die A & B in white card stock. I mounted it onto a cream card base. I stamped the sentiment from Altenew’s HEARFELT SENTIMENTS stamp set. This is such a versatile stamp set with lots of greetings for different occasions. The sentiment was linear but I was able to stack the words by masking. A tip: I used a small piece of transparency to mask instead of masking paper or a post it. I found that it sticks to the part of the stamp you don’t want inked and you can wipe off the ink afterwards! I discovered this was effective when I couldn’t find my post its on my desk.
So, dear friend, if you are reading this.. My heartfelt condolences.. stay strong and I’m here when you need me.
All the elements on this card are just lovely! And we love those soft colors! Great work! Thank you so much for joining the Inspiration Challenge!
