12 Days of Christmas: Hero Arts November 2022 Add-ons

Hello! I’m feeling a bit pressured as somehow Christmas has snuck up on me! I haven’t done my list or any Christmas shopping. But what I have are a lot of Christmas cards! I made quite a bit so that’s a good thing!

One of the new releases this month from Hero Arts is the Twelve Days of Christmas stamp set. As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to create a Peek-a Boo card!

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me.. I got you singing, right?

First I ink-smooshed two panels of watercolor paper with Reactive Inks in Splash, Pool Party, Blue Hawaii and Thistle. Next I took the Ornaments Grid bold prints cling stamp, ink blended the same colors directly onto the stamp, gave it a light mist of water, then took one of the ink smooshed panels and placed it on top of the ink blended cling stamp. I lifted it up and the Ornaments Grid design transferred onto the panel.

Then I used the Peek-a-Boo Doors fancy die to die cut the panel once it was dry.

Next, I placed the other ink smooshed panel underneath the panel with all the doors and using a pencil, traced each opening onto the paper underneath. This will give me a guide on where to stamp the images and icons of the 12 days of Christmas.

Then I stamped each image within the pencil marks with Intens-ified black ink. I also took additional icons from an November 2018 My Monthly Hero kit.

Next I stamped the numbers on the doors of each corresponding icons representing the days of Christmas. For the other doors, I just used a small star stamp from the MMH kit, stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. I also did the same with edges of the panel to give it a nice shiny border.

I stamped the sentiment happy holidays on a scrap of ink smooshed paper, bubble cut it and mounted it on the top right hand side. The sentiment is from the Snowflake Messages stamp set. Then I finished it off by adding some satin gold baubles around the sentiment before adhering it onto a side folding card base.

Now I really need to get back to Christmas planning, lots of stuff to do!

In the meantime, have a wonderful and crafty day!

‘Til next time!

❤️
