Hi everyone!! My card inspirations for you today is a not-so-traditional color palette for Christmas!
If you are following along on the blog hop, you have just come from the wonderfuly creative Natasha Davies. If you would like to start over, you can go to the Altenew blog. There you will find more information on this fantastic release!
For the background of my first card, I used Periwinkle cardstock and dry embossed it using the Herringbone Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Then I swiped the surface of the panel with embossing ink and sprinkled Antique Silver Embossing Powder and heat set it. The main focus of my card is the Dry Brush Poinsettia. I stamped the flower with Blush for the base layer and then Rouge for the second layer with Crimson on the insides. all of which are from the Red Sunset crisp dye ink cube set. The leaves I stamped with Parrot for the base layer & Olive for the second layer which is from the Tropical Forest crisp dye ink cube set. Fresh Lemon & Honey Drizzle from the Pocketful of Sunshine mini ink cube set for the middle of the flowers.
I stamped with embossing ink for the third and final layer in all the elements and heat embossed it with Antique Silver embossing powder. I used the same embossing powder for the sentiment “happy holidays”. Then I finished off the card with Satin Silver Baubles.
The second card I created also has a not-so-traditional Christmas palette. I stamped the flower with Frosty Pink for the base layer and then Coral Berry for the second layer with a hint of Ruby Red on the insides of the flower, all of which are from the Red Cosmos crisp dye ink cube set. The leaves I stamped with Grass field for the base layer & Mountain Pine for the second layer which is from the Green Valley crisp dye ink cube set. Fresh Lemon & Honey Drizzle from the Pocketful of Sunshine mini ink cube set for the middle of the flowers.
And just like the first card, I stamped the final layers of all the elements with Antique Gold Embossing powder and heat set it to give the flowers that additional shimmer and shine!
I used the Candy Cane Stripes cover Die for the background, layered on top of Peony cardstock. I stamped the greeting “Happy Holidays” with Obsidian ink and fussy cut it to fit into the left side of the floral arrangement. Then I added Satin Gold Baubles to finish it off.
