A few years ago, Altenew released a Peruvian Lily Stamp set and I fell absolutely in love with that set — so when I was asked to be part of this blog hop for the Craft-a-Flower version, I was so excited, I just had to say yes!!

Whenever I receive a new floral layering die, the first thing I do is die-cut all the layers using cardstock scraps. I use the layering guide to familiarize myself with all the different layers. I adhere it to a piece of copy paper and place it inside the stamp pocket along with the guide. I also make notes on the margin of colors I used.. combinations to try or little details to look out for when layering them.

This card is my very first mini slimline! And so far I am loving this size!

I die cut all the elements of the flower from scrap cardstock. I have so much of those that I am always so excited to use them up for all the Craft-a-flower dies. This particular set is so easy to put together, yet it looks complicated.

For the background of my card, I took the Many Dots washi tape and adhered it on some white cardstock. Since this is narrower than a piece of 3.5″X6″ cardstock, I adhered two strips side by side and trimmed it to the 3.5″X 6″ which is the standard size of a mini slimline. I trimmed of about a fourth of an inch on all sides and mounted it on a side folding black card base. Then I added the “Sending Love & Hugs” sentiment from the Best Sentiments set.

Here is another card I created, using the left over strip of washi from my first mini slim line project. I used the Waffled Diamonds embossing folder as the backdrop of my flower. I added some black dot embellishments as a final touch.

These cards were so easy to put together but yet make such a huge impact – thanks to the beautiful CAF Peruvian Lily. A definite must have in your collection!

  1. Since I am very good at layering in general but I find Altenew’s Flower Builder layering stamps and dies super easy to use. I am now able to make amazing cards. Thank you Altenew!

  2. You color choice is perfect and the flowers pop off the card with the use of washi tape. Very cool card

  3. The use of the washi tape is something that really adds a boost to setting off the colors of the flowers. Both cards are dramatic. Thank you

  4. You are right that it looks complicated, but everyone in the Blog Hop made such beautiful cards that it makes all of us want to try that flower die set too. Great job on your card!

  5. Love your colors and the black/white background works so well for the colorful lilies. Nice use of the washi tape. Great cards. Thank You

  8. Love your dramatic Peruvian Lily! My 92 YO neighbors favorite flower .. aka alstroemeria. Can’t wait to make her a card with this gorgeous flower!

  9. Love your card design and this new die is just gorgeous. It looks lovely in every color combination.

  10. I like how you put the two flowers together–orange and pink. That’s a favorite combo of mine.

  11. Great projects shared. Nice arrangement for the slim card. Great use of the leftover strip for the second card.

  12. Hi Anna, I could not chose between both of your card they were equally beautiful, well the one with 2 lillies is probably where I’m leaning because you used different colors for each lily and that really makes the card pop. They are both truly a work of art, Thanks for sharing and inspiring us.

  13. Loved your colors! And this die set. The size is great and so many possibilities to use it. Thanks

  14. I love slimline cards… mini or full size! These flowers filled the space so well and I loved the addition of the washi tape! Nice job…

  15. Beautiful! I love the composition- background, flower placement, and colors. This is one of my favorite CAF die sets ever!
