Spring into Christmas! Polka Dot Orchard and Build Your Holiday Stash Linky Party

Hi everyone! I’m back with the Polkadot Orchard design team! I am also participating in the Build Your Holiday Linky Party. You can check all the information about the event here.

My inspiration today is actually a fall wreath and digitally added poinsettia flowers to give it a holiday spin! I used two digi files from Polkadot Orchard Forever Blessed and Holiday Poinsettia.

If you don’t already know, I use CANVA to edit all my digital designs. The app is free and very easy to use. I also use CANVA for my intro animations and thumbnails for my Youtube channel among many other things!

After editing the digi files and getting it in the right proportion to my card size, I printed it out on watercolor cardstock. I get a lot of inquiries on how to print on watercolor cardstock, if you are interested in learning about how I do it, let me know in the comments below and I will come up with a brief tutorial using CANVA.

I used my Karin Waterbrush Markers to paint my image. First I gave it a soft wash of color for the base then used a slightly darker color to add in the details.

I splattered the left over paint all over the panel. Then took some water-downed white acrylic paint and splattered that too! And if it wasn’t enough I splattered some gold metallic paint as well!

I printed the sentiment “NOEL” on a separate piece of watercolor paper and fussy cut it out. Added it to the bottom right of my panel. I finished off the card with some gold baubles before adhering it to a gold embossed card base.

Hope to see you at the hop!

‘Til next time!
