Papercraft Business Challenge, WPLUS9

Sweet Love Birds – Papercraft Business Challenge #26

If you have been following me, you will notice that I don’t usually do cute critters on my cards. Usually the animals I use in my stamping have a realistic quality to it. But this time, I challenged myself to get out of my comfort zone. This cute All Year Cheer stamp set from Wplus9 was something I couldn’t resist! The fact that it was on clearance didn’t hurt one bit!

This month’s Papercraft Business Challenge is all about Love. This stamp set is just perfect for the theme.

I started with ink blending my background with Distress Oxides, leaving the middle a little lighter.

I sprayed some water mixed with Perfect Pearls powder to give it a nice shimmer. Then dabbed off excess with a paper towel.

Distress Oxide Inks used: Broken China and Tumbled Glass

I used a finger sponge dauber to apply the inks on all the elements (except for the flowers). The reason why I use a sponge dauber is because I wanted soft colors for my images and wanted it to have a bit of an ombre effect.

After Inking my images, I fussy cut them all out and set them aside while I worked my background.

I used the Oval Halfsies die from The Greetery for the frame. I just love this die as I can see so may uses for it. I adhered clear acetate and then foam mounted it on top of the ink blended background.

I adhered all my little elements then used the banner die that came with the Halfsies die on the top left side but not after I ink blended it and stamped the “love you” sentiment from a Hero Arts My Monthly Hero September 2019 kit. I then finished it off with Nuvo crystal drops on the center of the flowers, the eyes & beaks of the birds and the hearts.

I hope you are inspired by my project to try something new for yourself. If you love critters, maybe try florals, or if you love lots of embellishments on your card, try something clean and simple.

I’m excited to see what you create so head on over to the Papercraft Business Challenge blog. Speaking of critters, you just might win this adorable Whale You Be Mine stamp set by Lawn Fawn.

If you enjoy joining challenges, Papercraft Business has created a special planner to help you keep track of your challenges and to help you not miss out on important dates. You can check out the planner here.

See you there!

‘Til next time!
