Hi everyone!
Today I am sharing with you some tips I have learnt as I was making this card. I am channeling my inner Jennifer McGuire here as I show you some ways to save time in creating multiple cards with the same layout. Its nothing new but I just wanted to share some little bits I learned along the way. ALTENEW floral stamps are perfect for these techniques.
The first step is to create a “rough draft’ of your layout. I use typing paper for this so I do not waste cardstock. I used my acrylic block to stamp it to try different layouts until I am satisfied with the result.

The second step was I created masks for the elements I decided to use for my layout. I store my used and unused masks on top of the acetate packaging of the stamps. That way they are ready to use when I need them. By the way ALTENEW now has masks, both negative and positive included in their new releases.
Third, after creating masks, I made a template of my layout using the masks stamping the image in the forefront working my way back. I will keep this template in the packaging of my stamps in case I want to recreate the layout in the future. The MISTI stamping tool or any other stamp positioning tool is needed for this step as well as the next step.

After steps one to three, I am ready to stamp my layout. I wanted to create several cards using different coloring mediums so I planned on stamping two layouts on copic friendly paper, one using Memento Black ink and the other using Distress Antique Linen ink for no line copic coloring. I also stamped and heat embossed three different layouts on watercolor paper. I plan to watercolor the images in the near future.

For this card, I decided to use copics to color in my blooms. The stamp set I used is the Beautiful Peonies by ALTENEW. For the colors I used, please refer to the list below. I decided to do a one-layer card using copic grays for the shadow to give it dimension. I learnt this technique from the ALTENEW ACADEMY One-layer wonders class which you can find at the ALTENEW ACADEMY .
Here is my finished card.

I am also entering this card in the March ALTENEW Inspiration Challenge.

I hope you learned something new today and I would love to hear from you in the comments below.
Thank you for stopping by!
