June 2025 Hero Studio Release + Blog Hop

Hello! The Hero Arts Creative team and friends are hopping today, join us for a chance to win a Hero Arts gift card! You have just come from Jeannie‘s blog.

I’m excited to share two cards I created with the latest release from Hero Arts called Coastal Vibes – it’s all about those summer memories of days at the beach! I made two cards, one with  the June Card Kit and the other, with the June Stamp & Cut of the Month.

The June Card Kit of the Month is the “Summer State of Mind”. Let’s take a look at this month’s kit.

Contents of the kit:

– Summer State of Mind 6×8 Clear Stamp Set
– Summer State of Mind Coordinating Dies
– Beach Bag Die Set
– Sand Embossing Powder, 0.5 oz.
– 10 Sheets of Cardstock (2 of each color), 5.5″ x 8.5″ (Fawn, Coral, Seaside, Waterfall, Blue Spruce)

For the background of my first card, I used an ink smooshed background that i had in my box of unused projects. This was a leftover from another Hero Arts project on which I used reactive inks on watercolor paper. I created the sandy part of the background by splattering a combination of Cup O’Joe Core ink and White Acrylic Ink on Fawn cardstock from the kit. I tore the edges and then added Hero Paste on the torn edges to make it look like foam from the waves. I created the towel that the bag is on by inking up the Seaside Stripe Cling Stamp with Creamsicle ink, giving a few spritzes of water before placing it on top of Beeswax cardstock from Spellbinders.

I used the Beach Bag Die Set as the main focal point of the card. I used Carrot, Truffle cardstock for the main body of the bag and Alabaster for the handles. These are cardstocks from Spellbinders. For the scarf and the sunglasses, I used more from my box of unused projects. So even if you make mistakes with what you create, do not throw them away, you just never know when they will come in handy! The shell is die cut from Alabaster cardstock and colored with colored pencils.

The sentiment “Summer State of Mind” is white heat-embossed on Truffle cardstock and die cut using the coordinating die.

The second card I created using the June Stamp and Cut Set of the month called “Seashells”.

First I created a template using the solid stamps in the set, arranging all the solid seashell stamps on the upper part of a 4.25″x5.5″ piece of scrap paper. I stamped it and the turned the paper to the other side and stamped it again to create an overall pattern. I will use this template to stamp the shell background for my card.

I took Fawn cardstock cut to 4″x5.25″ and stamped the solid shell stamps onto the cardstock panel with embossing or watermark ink. I stamped it several times to create a darker tone. Then I dried the panel with a heat tool.

Next, I used the shell stamps and place them on top of each of the stamped shell silhouette, and the white heat-embossed the shell designs.

Then I ink splattered a combination of Cup O’Joe Core Ink and White Acrylic paint all over the panel. Then I trimmed the panel about an eight of an inch all around.

Next, I heat-embossed the edges of the panel using Sand Embossing powder that came in the Card kit. I added the sentiment “I miss you”, white heat-embossed on Truffle cardstock and die cut using the coordinating die from the kit.

  1. Both cards are absolutely amazing! I love how colorful the first card is. The seashell card makes me to expect a dinosaur fossil is just nearby waiting to be discovered.
