Hello crafty friends! Welcome to the Hero Studio blog hop! You have just come from Mindy’s blog. For this month, I created two one-layer cards using the Card Kit of the Month and the Layering Stencils of the Month. First, let’s take a look at the April Card Kit of the Month – “Tranquil Terrarium”.

Contents of the kit:
– 20 Terrarium Fancy Dies
– Terrarium Clear Stamp Set, 6″ x 8″
– 16 Terrarium Coordinating Dies
– Clear Hero Enamel Dots
– 3 Clear Card Panels, 4.25″ x 5.5″
– 9 Sheets of Cardstock, 5.5″ x 8.5″ (Poppy, Peridot, Rainforest, Fern, Alabaster, Fawn, Truffle, Fog, Anchor)
I created a one-layer card using the stamps in the kit.

First, I created masks for the frog and the tree stump by stamping on masking paper and then cutting the images out.
To creating the one-layer scene, I first stamped the image of the frog. Then I masked of the frog then stamped the tree stump to make it look like the frog is sitting on top of the tree trunk.
Next, I masked both images and then I used the Cling Stamp of the Month – Raindrop Ripples and stamped on top of the masked images using Unicorn White Pigment ink. Then I ink-blended Summer Sky Core Ink on top and the ripples appeared as if by magic! I did a little bit of ink splattering to mimic raindrops.

Next, I colored the frog and the tree stump with colored pencils and highlighted some areas with a white gel pen.
I stamped the sentiment “Thinking of You” and created a shadow behind the “t” with the white gel pen to make it stand out against the tree stump. The added clear Enamel Dots to complete the rainy day feel.
Then I trimmed the panel and matted it using the Fern Cardstock from the kit.

For my second card, I ink-blended a variety of colors to make a colorful jungle scene using the Jungle Color Layering Stencil of the Month.

The stencils are numbered in the order in which it’s supposed to be used but I decided to start with Stencil #4. For that I ink-blended the sky using Mist, then Summer Sky for the top half.

Next I took Stencil #1, I started blending with Orchid Core Ink at the bottom. Then, I blended in Soft Blossom. Next, Spicy Mustard then at the top most part, Pumpkin.
For Stencil #2. I used the Indigo for the bottom part, then Plum, then Spicy Mustard.
And for the final details, I added more Plum on the bottom part to darken it even more, then Plum, then finally Spicy Mustard at the very top.

Next, I stamped the sentiment “Plant Dreams, pull weeds and grow a happy life”. The sentiment came from the Card kit.

Then I trimmed the panel down and matted it with Lilac cardstock from Spellbinders.

I love how you masked off the little frog to sit on the tree stump. Masking something off is something I never tried before. I am going to try it now. Love all your cards !
