March 2025 Hero Studio Release + Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends! The Hero Arts Creative Team is hopping once again, bringing you the latest release from Hero Arts. This month’s theme is Bows & Beyond! I have a few cards I made with the release.

For the first set of cards I am using products from the March Card Kit of the Month. First, let’s take a look at the kit and it’s contents.

– Bows & Messages Clear Stamp Set, 6” x 8”
– Bow Tag Clear Stamp Set, 4″ x 6″
– 10 Bows & Messages Coordinating Dies
– 4 Bow Tag Coordinating Dies
– Ribbons Cover Plate Die
– Thin Stripes Stencil, 6″ x 6″
– 2 Bows Rub-On Transfer Sheets
– 6 Sheets of Cardstock, 5.5″x8.5″ (Bellini, Tutu, Beeswax, Mint, Cascade, Orchid)
– Pastel Pearl Embellishments

I created a couple of cards using the beautiful Ribbons Cover Plate Die. And I created one card using the Hat Box Stamp & Die Set of the month for a total of three cards.

Card #1:

I created the background using a watercolor technique using the stencil that came in the kit. I used Taffy Reactive ink and ink-blended the stencil, spritzed it with water, then placed a panel of watercolor paper on top to pick up the ink.

Next I used the cover die in the kit and die cut it out using the Tutu cardstock. Then with a pair of detail scissors, I cut out the ribbon in the inner frame and separated it from the rest of the cover die.

To create a 3D effect for the ribbons, I used colored pencils in a similar color with three different shades.

Then I used the Cascade cardstock for matting and the white heat-embossed sentiment.

I have a video with step by step instructions linked below.

I hope you found the step-by-step tutorial useful.

Card #2

For the second card, I used the rest of the pink frame and adhered it on top of a white die cut cardstock. I added “dimension” to the white ribbon with 3 shades of gray pencil – light, medium & dark.

I created the background of this card by inkblending the stripes using the stencil and Pool Party Reactive ink.

The sentiment, Happy Mother’s Day, was white heat embossed on the same pink cardstock.

Card #3

For my final card, I used the hat box, flower bouquet and ribbon images from the stamp set and heat-embossed it using gold embossing powder on white cardstock.

Next, I smooshed reactive inks on palette and with a no. 4 paintbrush, watercolored the images.

The ink colors I used for the images were namely, Taffy & Creamsicle for the biggest flower & the ribbon, Lemon Drop &  Creamsicle for the medium flower and Lilac & Purple Galaxy for the smallest flower. The leaves were painted with Key Lime Fizz & Green Apple, the hat box with Pool Party. Then I used colored pencils in the darker shades to add depth to the images.

The background of my card was one of the left over backgrounds from making card #1.

I added a white frame on top of the background with a piece of vellum in between to give it a more muted look. Then I adhered the hat box, ribbon and flowers using foam tape at the back to give it some dimension. I decided not to put a sentiment but at the very last minute decided to add a thin gold frame.

Hope you liked the cards I made for the release. But before you go, an exciting announcement, Hero Arts has a..

  1. I love how you used the cover plate die in two different ways. Both of those cards are fabulous!! And, your watercolored third card is just beautiful!
