Hero Arts February 2025 Hero Studio Release + Blog Hop

Hi friends! Its Hero Studio release day and spring is in the air. Though I live in a tropical country and spring weather is really not a thing, I do love all things floral and this month’s release does not disappoint. This month’s card kit has a gorgeous tulip color layering stamp among other things, so let’s take a look at this versatile stamp set.

Contents of the kit:

  • Tulip HeroScape Clear Stamp Set, 6” x 8”
  • Circling Clouds Cling Stamp, 6″x 6″
  • Messages Clear Stamp Set, 4″ x 6″
  • 7 Tulip HeroScape Coordinating Dies
  • 5 Messages Coordinating Dies
  • 4 Word Fancy Dies with Frame Cuts
  • 4 Ink Cubes: Thistle Reactive Ink , Azalea Core Ink, Moss Core Ink, Blue Raspberry Reactive Ink

For my first card, I decided to do a watercolor effect with the stamps. It’s quite easy to do and I find it gives a beautiful hand-painted look. It was so quick and easy to make, you could mass produce this for Easter cards, birthday cards or just as an all-occasion set.

First I stamped the images of the tulips starting with the leaves. I used Key Lime Fizz and Green Apple reactive inks. I added a few spritzes of water to the inked up stamp before stamping it onto a watercolor panel. The Key Lime and Green Apple reactive inks are from the Nature Palette Mini Ink cube collection.

I also stamped the butterflies & dragonfly image from the stamp set with Berry Smoothie & Grape Slush reactive Inks from the Floral Palette Mini Ink cube collection.

For the background of my card, I inked up the Circling Clouds Cling Stamp from the kit with Splash reactive ink, gave it a few spritzes of water before stamping onto watercolor cardstock. I also splattered some ink onto the panel for added interest. When the panel was dry, I stamped Thank you using Intens-ified Black Ink.

Then I die cut the flowers using the coordinating dies. Next I assembled them in layers using a frame and foam dimension tape in between to give a multi-layer effect.

For my second card, I used the Color Layering Stencils of the Month, Daffodils. I used the reactive inks as well to create a beautiful watercolor card.

I have a YouTube video linked below on how I achieved this watercolor effect with layering stencils.

Here are some close-up photos of the card.

I hope you were inspired to give these techniques a try!

  1. I love the many layered tulip card! I never would have thought to layer like you did—so brilliant! And thank you for video showing how you water colored the daffodils! Beautiful! I will definitely use these techniques in the future.

  2. the layering on the tulip card makes that one extra special! That daffodil stencil card is lovely, the stencil is my favorite piecein this new release.
