Foiled Christmas: Squirrelz Stash Bash Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends! The Squirrel Squad is back with another round of inspiration! This month’s theme is Foiling & Christmas. Oh and what a challenge that was! I chose this month’s prompt and I am almost sure my squirrel sisters are about to disown me! šŸ˜„

For those of you who don’t know what our hop is all about, it’s a chance to bring out our hardly used supplies and use them! My hardly used supply is my Spellbinders Glimmer machine. So it was time to break it out and foil! But first, here’s a look at my foiling station.

I purchased a nail polish acrylic stand from Amazon, which was the perfect storage solution for the foil rolls. I have the decofoil at the top most row and the spellbinders foil in the next two levels. I store the Glimmer machine under the white stand, which is actually a computer monitor stand.

For this foiling project, I decided to create two foiled cards. Actually, I had made more foiled images but only had enough time to make two.

I used two foil plates from Hero Arts. For the background, I used the Cirlcle Confetti hot foil plate and for the main image, the Wishing Tree hot foil plate.

I went for non-traditional colors, aqua foil on pink cardstock and pink foil on aqua cardstock. I used the PinkFresh studio solid hot foil plate to foil the positive foil piece on white cardstock.

It was so difficult to capture the shine on the foils, but I hope you can see the beauty. I must admit, I got a little obsessed with foiling.. I actually ended up foiling lots of images. I hope to post more of these projects in the coming days.

In the meantime, hop on over to the lovely V Fairchild and be amazed by her creativity!

’til next time!

  1. They look so pretty Anna ! Love the non traditional colors. And I really like your foiling space. I use the same type of nail polish organizer for my embossing powders. For my foil rolls, I was afraid of the dust so I choose the Couture Creations Foil Storage Case and it works great for me šŸ˜‰

  2. Anna, these cards are gorgeous and I’m sure IRL they are even more beautiful!!! I love the pastel version the most! (You and Marie were on the same wavelength with pastel!) With that setup for foiling, I’m surprised you don’t foil more often… but it sounds like you are properly addicted now, so I’m betting we’ll see lots of foil in your future! Now we just need to get you to set up a station for your Silhouette!!! 😜

  3. Loving the non-traditional colors! The pink in particular gives it a very 50s retro vibe in my book! And that is an awesome organization to your foiling station! IF these were the first results, I can’t wait to see what else you create! (And we’d never disown you! You’re stuck with us! Haha!)

  4. Ooooooo, these are SO PRETTY!!! Pink and aqua/turquoise are such nice colors for Christmas cards, I think! Nah, we would never disown you…it’s kinda like the mob, once you’re in, you can never get out! Too rough of an analogy? LOL šŸ™‚
