Rockin’ Tag! Hero Arts October 2022 Instagram Hop

Hello! Today I have a rockin’ inspiration for you! It’s clean, simple and fairly easy to make. I really needed to create a ton of tags to use on my gifts and I really like these types that are like cards, where there is a design in front anf then open up to reveal the message.

But before I get into the tutorial on how I created this, I just wanted to let you know that the Hero Arts Global team is hopping today on Instagram! This month you will have a chance to win a popular out of stock my monthly hero kit! All the details at the end of my blog post.

For this project I will be using the adorable rockin’ horse image from the Merry Rockin’ Horse stamp & die set. I stamped and heat embossed the image on Dove White cardstock using Gold embossing powder. Then I used the coordinating die to cut it out. I also cut out two extra pieces and added it to the rockin horse die-cut for extra dimension.

I took a piece of Cranberry red cardstock, then cut it lengthwise on the 8.5″ side at 2.5″, then scored at 4.5″ then folded it in. In one 8.5″X11″ sheet, I was able to cut three pieces. Then I placed the folded tag on the trimmer and cut it at 5.5″.

Next, I used the Sprinkled Dots stencil and Gold Hero Wax for the background. I used my fingers to spread the Hero Wax over the stencil and used a tapping motion to make sure the wax got into the openings. I masked off the area above the scored line so only the front part of the tag will have the stenciled design. Then I removed the stencil and set the tag aside to dry. In the meantime, I made sure to wash my stencil with warm soapy water.

Once dried, I stamped and gold heat embossed the sentiment “have a merry christmas at the bottom of the tag and used a corner rounder to round out the edges.

Then I adhered the rockin horse die cut on the toip part of the tag, flushed to the edge, then cut off the excess from the bottom. On the inside I added a piece of white cardstock with the words “to” and “from” stamped with Intens-ified Black ink also from the same stamp set. I used a puncher to punch a hole at the top and added a gold 3/4″ ribbon. tied with cream & gold twine from my stash.

As mentioned at the beginning of my post, the Hero Arts Global team is hosting an instagram hop and we will be giving away October 2021 kits to not one, but two lucky winners! If you don’t remember this kit, it is the one with the Santa, Deer and Elf tags. I have a video inspiration linked here using this kit!
