Hi Everyone! We are once again mid-way through our monthly challenge and it’s all about texture! This time I decided to bling it up a little!
The inspiration of my project came from a friend, who, during the pandemic, really got into gardening and plants. I wanted to make her a birthday card and I also wanted to try out the new Hero Arts hero paste.
For the background I used a stencil that came in the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero June 2019 kit. I first ink smooshed a watercolor paper panel using a combination of Dandelion and Indigo liquid watercolor inks to create a vibrant green. I used the same mixture of colors on the Hero Paste. I used a small palette knife to spread the paste on some parts of the ink smooshed panel. Then while the paste was still wet, I sprinked some green eco glitter that came in another Hero Arts kit from December 2019.
For the elements on my card, I die cut the leaves from the Plant & Stand Fancy die using a combination of Dove white cardstock, Glitter cardstock from the Holiday Sparkle collection and another green ink smooshed panel. I added a white frame using rectangle dies.
The sentiment happy birthday was heat embossed using fern green embossing powder from ranger. The sentiment was from the Bookworm Messages stamp set. I embellished the card using Satin Silver Baubles.
I hope you were inspired to give this technique a try — this would be great for holiday/christmas cards! DOn’t forget to post your creations using your favorite Hero Arts products and post on your Instagram feed. Tag us at #abnhoctoberchallenge and @ablognamedhero.
I really hope my friend likes the card I made her!
‘Til next time!
