Partial Die-cutting the Very Merry Christmas Tree: Hero Arts August 2025 Release

Hello! I’m sharing a card I created using the latest release from Hero Arts called “Very Merry”. The Hero Arts creative team is hopping over on Instagram to celebrate the new release. Details of the hop at the end of my post.

I used the Tree Color Layering Stencil paired with the Festive Tree die set and did some partial die cutting. First, I laid out the biggest tree in the die set in the middle of a 4.25″X5.5″ piece of white cardstock and I “framed” it with one of the rectangle dies from the Rectangle Infinity Die set. Then I placed a piece of washi tape

On a die-cutting machine, I placed the edge of top plate below the washi tape line. This will cut out only the area below. Then after running it through the die-cutting machine, I did the same on the upper half.

Then I took a craft knife and cut across the remaining area along the washi tape line.

I removed the washi tape carefully, then placed the smaller tree in the middle of the bigger one and die-cut it out.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I used the coordinating layering stencil set and ink blended using Splash & Blue Hawaii from the Sea Palette Reactive Ink Cubes Collection. I just varied the degree of ink blending to get a different shade for each layer. Then I inkblended the middle of the tree with Key Lime Fizz and Green Apple from the Nature Palette Reactive Ink Cubes Collection.

Then for added interest and shine, I used the Scattered Dots stencil and Glitter paste on top.

I used Intens-ified Black Ink to stamp the sentiment “Merry Christmas” in the middle. The sentiment came from the Modern Christmas Greetings stamp set which is also part of the Very Merry collection.

I added foam tape at the back and place dot on top of the ink blended background. Then finished it off with a star on top die-cut from silver glitter paper.
