Ink Swiping Technique: Hero Arts Blossoms & Birdsong Collection

Hello crafty friends! There are times when I really dont feel like to doing a lot of coloring on my die cuts. So I decided to try the ink swiping technique to color them in.

Hero Arts is releasing three new collections and the creative team and I are hosting a hop over on Instagram – more details at the end of my blog post. For this technique, I am using the Branches & Blossoms Layering Dies from the Blossoms & Birdsong Collection.

I took a variety of reactivwe inks and swiped different combinations on a piece of white cardstock. I swipe the edge of each ink cube, starting in one direction, then used another color in another direction.Different combinations of colors give off different effects.

I use a combination of blues for the back ground of my card. Then for the oval die cut, i used a combiantion of yellows and oranges. The bird, pinks and oranges and the leaves, combination of greens.

I used white cardstock to die cut the cover plate which I used for the background. Then the oval infinity dies to die-cut two sizes of ovals to put behind the bird and leaves.

Next I added the sentiment ” I appreciate you”, white heat embossed on black cardstock.

Leave a comment on each stop over at Instagram for a chance to win a $50 gift card from Hero Arts. The winners will be randomly chosen from all the comments left on participating designer’s instagram posts. WInners will be announced on the Hero Arts Instagram account and blog. Link to the hop here.

Hope you were inspired to try the ink swiping technique to colot in your die-cuts.

Have a wonderful crafty day!

Til next time!

❤️

Anna
