Hello! I am back with another inspiration today using products from the Hero Arts August 2023 release. The Global Team is having an Instagram hop and I will list all the details below.
Speaking of which, when I posted this project last night on my IG page, one of my crafty friends, Marian (@marking1208 on IG) commented that the card I made looked like “cloisonne”. I actually hadn’t thought of that when I made this card, but when she pointed it out, I could totally see it! What is cloisonne? Cloisonne is a french word and its an ancient technique for decorating metal work objects with colored material held in place by strips of wire, normally made of gold.

To make this card, I used the Bold Flowers stamp set from Hero Arts. I took all the flower cluster stamps and laid them out on a panel of cardstock in my Misti stamping tool. I then stamped it out with black ink to create a sort of template for an over all pattern. I keep this template at the back of my stamp set so I can pull it out anytime I want to create the same overall pattern design.

Then I used this template over and over again to create several panels but this time I stamped it with embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

One of the panels was gold heat embossed on Peony cardstock. I then colored the flowers and leaves with waterbrush markers. I used ZIG clean color brush markers.

Then I trimmed it 1/8th of an inch on all sides and gold heat embossed the edges before adhering it onto a Meadow green cardbase. I then added a gold heat embossed sentiment “thinking of you”, also from the same stamp set.

And that was it! I love the way it turned out and in the end I “accidently” created a faux cloisonne look!
I hope you are inspired to give this a try! And before you go, please hop onto my Instagram page linked here to join the hop. Comment on each stop for a chance to win a $25 gift card to the Hero Arts shop. You have until September 7th! See you there!
In the meantime, have a wonderful crafty day!
’til next time!
❤️
Anna
