Pantone Color 2022 and More: Altenew Educators Instagram Hop

Hi everyone! Today, the Altenew Educators are having a fun hop on Instagram! The inspiration of this month;s hop theme in the 2022 Pantone Color of the Year – Very Peri. A beautiful Periwinkle blue. More details on the hop below.

For my card design, I used the stunning You Are Beautiful stamp set. As soon as I saw this set, I fell in love with it, I just had to buy it! It reminds me of the flowers I have in my garden. We had one that was a very light Periwinkle blue. The lighting in the photograph below doesnt do it justice, my phone camera couldnt quite catch the true color.

The colors of inks I used to create the shade of Periwinkle was a combination of purples and blues. I used Ultramarine & Eastern Sky from the Lapis Lazuli crisp dye ink cube set and I combined it with Ultraviolet & Hydrangea from the Enchanted Garden ink cube set.

For the leaves of my flowers I used the inks from the Tropical Forest set of mini ink cubes. Then I enhanced the details on the flowers with Woodless coloring pencils – Desert Night for the darker areas and Galactic Stream for the rest of the details. The Style and Stamen of the flower is colored in using Maple Yellow coloring pencils.

For the background, I dry-embossed a panel of heavy weight white cardstcok using the Garden Harmony 3D embossing folder. I splattered on some ink fromt the Jet Black ink spray bottle before matting it on black cardstock. The sentiment “You are Beautiful” is also from the stamp set, white heat embossed on black cardstock and fussy cut before adhering it with foam tape. I also added foam tape underneath the petals to give it more depth and dimension.
