Before I created my cards, I stamped the flowers from the Fresh Bloom stamp set several times using my Misti.

My color inspiration came from a mural I saw while walking in our neighborhood mall.

If you like the combination, I used Pink Pearl and Coral Bliss from the Tea Party Crisp Dye Ink set for the base layer and the second layer. Then I used Eastern Sky and Ultramarine from the Lapis Lazuli Crisp Dye Ink set for the last two layers. For the middle of the flower, I used Butternut and Pumpkin Pie from the Fall Harvest Crisp Dye Ink set. The leaves were stamped with Marshland, Sea Forest and Mangrove Root from the Nature’s Wonders Crisp Dye Ink set. The outline of the image stamped with Obsidian Ink.

INK CUBE SWIPING:

For the background of this card, I swiped Pink Pearl and Eastern Sky crisp dye ink cubes on top of each other. I just love the layered look that it gave. It almost looks like it was painted on with a dry brush.

I used the Ultramarine ink cube smooshing the ink cube on a craft mat, adding a little water and splattering it on the panel. I adhered the die cut flower onto the card panel and I fussy cut the sentiment “hello” stamped with Obsidian ink.

SWIPE & DRY EMBOSS:

For this card, I first swiped the Pink Pearl ink twice on the left side, then dry embossed the panel using the Organic Linen embossing folder. Then I swiped it again with the Eastern Sky Ink ink. I splattered the panel using the Ultramarine ink. Then I added the die-cut flower and the sentiment “Miss You”. I really love the small and scripty sentiments from this stamp set, it’s quite versatile!

SWIPE & HEAT EMBOSS:

For the background of this card, I used a mini embossing ink cube. I swiped it twice from top to bottom on the left side of a deep blue textured cardstock. Then I sprinkled Crisp White Embossing Powder on the card panel and used a heating tool to emboss it.

I adhered two of the flowers and the leaves onto the panel and finished it off with White Nuvo drops. Altenew released Essentials Black & White enamel dots this month, I will add that to my product list below in case you prefer using that instead of Nuvo drops.

MINI INK CUBE BLOCKING:

To create the background of this card, I took two colors of ink cubes, Silver Lake & Cloudy Night from the Gentleman’s Gray Crisp Dye Ink collection and stamped them firmly onto a piece of white cardstock in an alternate pattern. This created a checkerboard pattern. This is what I would call ink cube blocking technique. I cut the panel down to 3.5″X6″ to make a mini slimline card.

I took the Diamond Frame cover die, die cut it twice out of black cardstock and stacked it one on top of each other. I then selectively cut off both sides of the pattern to fit the mini slimline panel on either side.

The sentiment “HAPPY” is from the Modern Alphabet stamp set. I stamped and overlapped each letter of the sentiment to match the Diamond Frame design. I heat embossed the sentiment “BIRTHDAY” with Pure White embossing powder on black cardstock. The sentiment came from the Triginometry stamp set.

I hope you were inspired by my projects! I have other ink cube swiping techniques on my YouTube channel. Speaking of inspiration, next on the hop is the awesome Daniel Diaz! He is super talented and will have more wonderful inspirations for you.

‘Til next time!
