Squirrelz Stash Bash, The Greetery

Love & Plants: Squirrelz Stash Bash Blog Hop

Hi everyone! I’m on a roll with my blog posts! I got back a couple of weeks ago from my 2-month hiatus, sending off my eldest to university in another country. There is so much to catch up on!

For those of you who are not familiar with our hop, my Squirrel Sisters and I organize this monthly hop for a chance to bring out our hardly used supplies and use them! If you were following along, you had just come from the lovely Lounon.

The theme of this month’s hop is Anniversary and the supply is embossing folder. Well, I have a heck of a lot of embossing folders I haven’t used in years so it was so nice to be able to use one that paired really well with a new die set I bought from The Greetery. The embossing folder is a basket weave from WRMK. It was one of my very first 3-D embossing folders and one that I kind of regret buying because when I tried it out, it kept tearing up my paper. The grooves were so deep, that some parts tore straight through. So I put it away and never used it again until now.

I am a more experienced crafter now and I have learned that to prevent it from tearing or cracking, I should spritz the paper with water before running it through the die cut machine. It worked, well, kinda. It still tore through some parts, but they are minimal and can hardly be seen. So I consider that a win!

The die set I’m using is the succulent die sets, namely Aloe & Silver Dollar succulents. from The Greetery paired with the Modern planters dies also from The Greetery. This is the perfect card for my neighbors who love plants! They will be celebrating their anniversary sometime in November and I can hardly wait to give this to them!

I colored the plants and the pots with Distress Oxide Inks, I havent used my Distress Oxide inks in years, I discovered that some were pretty dry and some were still juicy.

After ink blending Antique Linen Distress Oxide for the background, I glued all the the elements down. Then I rummaged through my box of sentiments and found the perfect one from the Sentiments Strip stamp set from Hero Arts.

I hope our little hop has inspired you to bring out your hardly used supplies and give them some love! Next stop of the hop, is the talented Marie! You will be amazed by her lovely creation. Enjoy the hop!

Have a wonderful crafty day!

‘Til next time!

❤️

  1. Oooo, Anna, I love this! I hate it when embossing folder designs are so thick that they tear the cardstock! This turned out so lovely, and I know your plant-loving neighbors are going to love it when you give it to them! 🙂
